What is BestSolv™ 71DE Engineered Fluid?
BestSolv™ 71DE is a specialized cleaning solution made for vapor degreasing and immersion cleaning tasks. It is characterized by its low toxicity, non-flammable nature, zero ozone depletion, and minimal global warming potential. BestSolv™ 71DE is chemically identical to the soon-to-be-discontinued 3M™ Novec™ 71DE.
BestSolv™ 71DE provides medium-duty cleaning power while also being safe to use on tough plastics like nylon, PFTE, epoxy, and PEEK. One important characteristic of BestSolv™ 71DE is that it is azeotropic, ensuring consistent vapor and liquid composition as it evaporates. This consistent composition guarantees dependable performance in vapor degreaser systems.

The chemical composition of BestSolv™ 71DE is a hydrofluoroether (HFE) blend of BestSolv™ 7100 with 1,2 trans DCE.

BestSolv™ 71DE Engineered Fluid is suitable for a wide range of cleaning and degreasing tasks, including immersion cleaning, vapor degreasing and deposition solvent applications.
As a solvent cleaner, BestSolv™ 71DE is perfect for eliminating contaminants with wax. It can effectively remove various types of soils, such as light and medium oils, fluoro lubes, greases, fluoro greases, silicones, fluoro silicones and waxes, leaving no residue or damage behind. With its low surface tension, it can provide a thorough clean even in difficult-to-reach spots on complex components.
BestSolv™ 71DE is perfect for coating and lubricant deposition applications that need enhanced solvency due to its low surface tension, non-flammable nature, and azeotropic properties.

What is BestSolv™ 71DE Compatible With?
BestSolv™ 71DE Engineered Fluid is compatible with a wide variety of materials, including glass and metals like steel, aluminum and copper, as well as certain plastics and elastomers. It is important to mention that BestSolv™ 71DE is not suitable for acrylics, ABS or polycarbonates.

3M™ Novec™ Voluntary Phase Out Announcement
On December 20, 2022, 3M™ announced plans to exit per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) manufacturing and work to discontinue the use of the PFAS in its product portfolio by the end of 2025.
As an authorized 3M™ Engineered Fluids distributor, Best Technology remains committed to our customers throughout this transition and continues to receive 3M™ Novec™ products. We will continue to advocate for our customers to fulfill current orders as well as secure products for future orders. We highly recommend preparing for the phaseout by testing BestSolv™ replacement fluids.
