This cost calculator allows you to add up the costs of sending your parts out for passivation as a starting point for analyzing the true costs associated with bringing the process in-house versus continuing to to use an external service provider.
Each line provides a place to input typical type of costs incurred when using an external provider and the “Total” cell at the bottom reflects all of the associated costs. As you can see, some costs are hard numbers and some, like “loss of opportunity” or “wait time” may vary by part or your end customer. Being able to look at current costs for the external service versus the cost of a new system allows for a more streamlined ROI estimate for you and your team.
